Go Debt Free

Do you want to go debt free? Of course. We all do. And while it's not possible to go through life completely debt free, it is possible to have very little (if any) unsecured debt. Here's how to become debt free a best you can:

How to Get There

If you aren't in debt and are completely responsible when it comes to credit card spending, good for you! If you continue your good spending and saving habits, it's highly likely that you can excel at debt free living forever. You know what many people don't--how to live within your means.

However, the reality of today's world means that the cost of everyday living often exceeds our means. This is one reason people go into debt. Think about it--in the last year alone, the price of a gallon of gas has gone up nearly a dollar a gallon and the cost of heating a home has gone up more than that! But for most people, their salaries have not followed suit. It's ironic how prices continue to rise, but salaries don't. Obviously, someone's making money somewhere, but they aren't sharing the wealth.

Since you can't do anything about that, why not focus on what you can do something about--getting your debt under control. Perhaps your debt is out of control for other reasons. Maybe you have a bad shopping habit (don't feel bad--many of us do). It's like an addiction! But what you need to do if you're in debt is to enroll in one of the many debt free programs out there so you can go debt free. Take up a new hobby to replace shopping, like reading. A library card is free, so you can read all you want for free! You might not think you'll like it, but you never know until you try!

This is just one idea of many. If you are buried in debt and want to go debt free, again, we go back to the debt free programs we mentioned before. There are at least five to choose from, and at least one (maybe more) will work for you. You'll be out of debt in 5 years (compared to the 18+ years it would take you otherwise) and you'll save a ton of money in interest rates and finance charges in the process. How can you argue with that?

In addition, you can get credit counseling to go with your debt management program so once you go debt free, you can stay that way forever!
